Other Projects
MayDOG is not a one-trick doggie! We plan to work on other projects besides the dog park, including:
- Distributing educational materials on responsible pet care and ownership (dog licensing, vaccination, spay/neuter, removing animal waste, controlling excessive barking and other nuisances, training, exercise, socializing, microchipping, etc.)
- Conducting workshops and distributing educational materials on responsible pet care and ownership, pet first aid & CPR, and emergency response plans to the community (including individual citizens, homeowner associations, groups, schools, etc.)
- Developing and implementing a pet emergency preparedness program in partnership with the ASPCA, Red Cross, and/or other local groups
- Supporting improvements to the town by donating and arranging installation of poop bag dispensers, water spigots/bowls, responsible pet ownership signage, park benches, and greenery
- Participating in town-wide cleanup and town beautification efforts sponsored by other groups, such as MCG, the Maynard Litter League, and OAR
- Developing and implementing a program to support establishments with dog-friendly amenities (water bowls, dog tie-outs, benches)
- Designing a newsletter to communicate with members and partners
- Designing creative fundraising programs that will attract donors and sponsors
- Developing and implementing an annual community event
