Annual Dog-Friendly Business awards
MayDOG, the Maynard Dog Owners Group, is now accepting nominations for its annual Dog-Friendly Business awards! These awards will go to one business in Maynard and one in the surrounding community, voted to be the most dog friendly.

Nominations can be submitted by email to Maydog and will be accepted through August 31, 2012. The awards will be presented at MayDOG’s annual meeting on September 20, 2012.
What makes a business dog-friendly?
- Welcoming customers? dogs onto the premises (including outdoor seating for restaurants) or providing a “doggie hitch” if regulations do not allow dogs inside.
- Placing a water bowl near the entrance to the business
- Offering doggie treats to customers’ dogs.
- Offering unusual or special products/services specifically for dogs.
- Allowing employees to bring their dogs to work.
- Supporting dog-related non-profits in our community.
Everyone is invited to submit nominations by email to MayDOG. Please include the business name and location, and a few words about why you think your nominee is the most dog friendly in the area. You can nominate more than one business. Dog-friendly businesses in Maynard and the surrounding towns are welcome to nominate themselves!

MayDOG holds community events throughout the year and is working to open an off-leash recreation park in Maynard for the benefit of local residents.
