Preliminary Approval from the Town of Maynard for the Development of an Off Leash Recreation Area (Dog Park)

Great News!!!

As some of you may have already heard,  we have received preliminary approval from the Town of Maynard for the development of an Off Leash Recreation Area (Dog Park) to be constructed at the old landfill site on Waltham Street. As quoted on the Wicked Local Maynard website in an article about Maynard being named a green community and the solar field development:

“According to the agreement, the solar field has an estimated annual energy production of 1,750,000 kwh per year, with a guaranteed annual electrical output of 1,130,000 kw per year. The company will pay for the maintenance of the property and equipment, ensuring that the premises are in good condition with a reasonable wear and tear from the elements expected. The company has also agreed to develop a 1.5-acre dog park, which was heavily advocated by residents and the Maynard group, MayDOG.”

MayDOG (The Maynard Dog Owners Group) is working with Town Officials on a Memo of Understanding to define roles and responsibilities between all parties. We are excited about the next steps in the project and will be updating the community as they occur.

Thank to everyone involved in this project.
