 MayDOG Open meeting for all
The Maynard Dog Owners Group (MayDOG) will hold a public meeting Saturday, March 26, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Maynard Public Library in the Trustees Room.

This is your chance to come meet the Board and hear what direction MayDOG is moving in. We will also be providing an update on the O.L.R.A. (Off Leash Recreation Area) project at the old landfill site.

There will be a question and answer session for MayDOG to hear what local dog owners would like to see our group do. This meeting is open to members and non-members and a discount will be offered for those seeking membership the day of the meeting.

Dog Licenses Are Due Now

The Town Clerk’s Office would like to remind dog owners that 2011 dog licenses are due now.  Late fees will apply to dogs licensed after May 31, 2011 (excluding new dogs and dogs of new Maynard residents).

To obtain a license, please come to the Town Clerk’s Office, or mail the dog license form and send it with a check for $10.00 made payable to the Town of Maynard, along with a SASE, and current rabies vaccination information.

We want your Opinion!

Recently, we have been asked an interesting question and would like to ask Maynard’s dog owners – and non-dog owners for feedback on this:

If there was the opportunity to place one or two dog-waste-bag dispensers in Maynard, where do you think would be the best place for those? Are they needed – and if so, where would they be needed the most?

We are looking forward to your responses and ideas!

The risk of rabies to pets and humans is very real. If you have been bitten, scratched, or otherwise exposed to a potentially rabid animal, call your doctor right away and notify the Animal Control Officer of Maynard through the Police Department (978-897-1101).

As a reminder:  We are reinstating the Maynard Dog Friendly Business awards. If you know a business that you would like to nominate, please send an email to Maydog with the biz name and a short reason why they are dog friendly. There will be two categories again this year. One for Maynard owned business, and the other for surrounding towns. While we are the Maynard Dog Owners Group, we really appreciate the support from our neighbors.
